Hattie works at the nexus of impact and investment at Masawa. In her day-to-day, she designs and builds out the frameworks for measuring and valuing impact at the investment and portfolio levels, reviews opportunities for impact and profit alignment, and works with potential investees on impact maximization. Over the longer term she is developing a strategy for investing in nutrition.
Hattie joined Masawa with the goal to create a community that mainstreams the discussion of mental health and suffering and to highlight the business case for investing in it.
Prior to Masawa, Hattie worked for in ESG-factor investment while completing her Masters in International Business and Masters of Science in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University. She has a background in finance, having worked for 7 years in global financial services ranging from retail banking and municipal bonds to impact investing.
Hattie’s mental happy place involves a big table, outside, surrounded by good food, friends, and wine.
